FREE BINGO is on everyones lips at the BingoPort.co.uk Bingo Forum recently. The Chat Managers have been welcomed with open arms (and daubers) and they are playing some VERY fun and exciting chat games - getting everyone involved in the bingo game taking place.

The feedback on the bingo has been very good. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to send their comments and suggestions. As we keep saying, BingoPort.co.uk is YOUR site and we will do all we can to satisfy everyone when it comes to a great online bingo community.

One comment we have been getting is about the Bingo Caller in our 90 ball bingo room. Yes, we know it sounds like a robot! LOL! Well the GREAT news is that we have selected the winner of the Be A Bingo Caller competition - the winner was BLUESKY! Congrats and WD to Bluesky - make sure you congratulate her is you see her around the bingo game or forums - she was very excited. Her voice should be in the game in the next few days we hope - so stay tuned for that!

The story behind the two fat ladies 88 comes from a tale that was told in a club many years ago in a north east London bingo hall. The caller from this particular club was a nice east London man renowned for his use of the cockney rhyming slang when calling the numbers generated by the number generator during the games he was the caller for i.e. two little ducks # 22, Gordon’s Den # 10. (Only it wasn’t Gordon’s den back then)He had been trying hard to come up with a suitable phrase for the number 88 but it deluded him for many weeks. One night a few weeks later after having pondered this for a while his mother and aunt went along with him to the club he worked at for a night’s game and entertainment. Now his mother and aunt were lovely ladies who were lovely in everyway but were a bit larger than average. After playing for some time they decided they would go to the bar and get some drinks for them all but as they stood up they blocked his view of the screen, he couldn’t be rude as it was family but he did think to himself will you two fat ladies sit down as he was missing the numbers being called. Just as they moved away to get there drinks he noticed at that precise moment the number 88 was called, Putting two and two together he came up with 88 and he thought to himself that is great now I have my number 88 phrase. Hence the phrase was coined. From that point on he used the term when ever he was working and called the number 88, two fat ladies 88 came into being it is used across the world today in many bingo halls as well as in on-line Bingo. Many of the number sayings or bingo lingo comes from rhyming slang this is just one of many sayings relating to the numbers called. We cannot be sure this is the real reason that the two fat ladies 88 came into being but its one of many humorous stories told.

Hi, i loved reading Bingo Port’s newsletter it was packed with loads of great information on what is hot and happening in the Bingo world. I am going to have to get my thinking cap on thinking about a story to write about where the Two Fat Ladies 88 came from. jackpot Joys special deposit offer looks good deposit £10.00 and they will give you another £10.00 free hmmmmm nice.
