I have been a member of Gala bingo website for about 6 months now. I was introduced by my mum. The sign up offer was fantastic - I deposited £10 and once I had played with that I got another £10, and so did my mum. As I had never played online bingo before I tagged my mum around the site. She advised me to play from 8pm - 10pm in Island as most of the games were for 2p and 5p tickets and were BOGOF - so I bought a strip per game.
Lo and behold on my second night at Gala I won full house and had the fantastic sum of £120. I was able to withdraw £100 of this, and I carried on playing with the remaining £20. Over the following 2 months I won over £300 in total. I would say I had deposited maybe £50 to win this?
The site is laid out to allow for easy navigation - you can easily navigate around the different rooms, and you can check out timetables of all of the games playing - simply go to the main page and select “times and prices.” This makes it much easier for you to be able to see where all the cheap games are playing.
If you like to buy your tickets in advance then this is possible on Gala - you can advance buy tickets up to one hour before the game plays - this makes it easier for people like myself who have children to look after and housework to do - not everyone can stay staring at the screen and individually buying tickets for every game.
On the main page of the gala website you can check out the present and the up and coming promotions available on the site. Normally there are 2 or more promos going on at one single time - this is not even including the free bingo on Thursdays. EXAMPLE: recently Gala ran a promo that if you played on the 1st February then you had the chance to win Dancing on Ice tickets. Brilliant promo for any avid fan like myself.
For those of you who are avid Sainsbury shoppers and collect your Nectar points then you are a winner every time you play Gala - for every £1 that you spend on Gala you will get 2 nectar points - simply take a few seconds to register your nectar card on the site and points will start accumulating as soon as your next deposit.
Free bingo on Thursdays is also very good - every week Gala give away £10,000 in total of cash prizes on the free games - from 6pm through to 11pm you have the chance of winning £1000 on their linked games. Now, alot of members can be seen playing the free games (normally 4000+), and you may think that you stand no chance of winning - but this isn’t the case - I have won over £100 from the freebie games alone, so it is definitely worth logging in for. Not to mention that there are so many peeps in chat to talk to during the games.

- A ‘Good Left Hook’ Gets Pensioner Banned From Bingo Hall

Gala Bingo recently issued a lifetime bingo club ban on a 96 year old lady after she landed the Hall’s assistant manager with a punch in the eye.
The 96-year old bingo enthusiast was always known for her fiery temper and the heated arguments she would get into with other players and members of the staff if things didn’t work out the way she wanted it to. However, nothing prepared the assistant manager of Gala Bingo’s hall in Pollok, Glasgow, for the full-on left hook he received from the old lady while mediating one of her arguments.
The argument was sparked off when the OAP entered the bingo hall, only to find another player to have already occupied her favorite bingo seat. She apparently then launched into a tirade with the other player, threatening her with dire consequences if the seat was not vacated. The assistant manager, hearing the commotion, intervened to bring in peace. This was when she landed a neat punch on to his left eye, bringing him down.
One player who is quite familiar with the old lady and her temper commented, “This OAP is well known for her temper. She can throw a good left hook for someone of her age.” Another witness claimed that he believed that, knowing the old lady, this would be just another argument. But when she punched the assistant manager, all the onlookers were shocked.
Gala Bingo subsequently imposed a life ban on the pensioner and has informed her that she would not be welcome in any of their bingo halls in the future. A spokesperson for the group said that such a decision had to be taken keeping in view of the fact that this was not the first time such an event had taken place involving the same lady and she was involved in arguments and fights with other players and members of the staff on several other occasions. They noted in an official release, “After lengthy discussions we decided this lady would have to be ejected and prevented from attending any of our bingo halls in the future. This incident was shocking from someone that age. We cannot allow our staff to be verbally or physically abused. And we had to take into account that she’s behaved aggressively towards staff and other members in the past.”
This incident is reminiscent of the time Mecca Bingo banned another pensioner, 76-year old Ms. Rose Clemson, from its 102 clubs for arranging visits to other bingo clubs for players at Mecca Bingo. However, Rose got a reprieve when Ladbrokes bingo decided to appoint her as their bingo ambassador. It remains to be seen whether this pensioner too will be extended an olive branch by another bingo club soon.

- Soap Stars Call Bingo Numbers On New Interactive Show

Gala TV, the UK’s popular live bingo channel, will be mixing bingo and soap stars in its exclusive new Friday night show, ‘Soap Star Bingo.’ Broadcast between 8-9pm on Sky and Freesat channel 861, the show is presented by Chris Parker, famed for playing the role of Spencer Moon on Eastenders and for strutting his stuff on BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
A different soap star will join Parker on the live, studio-based show, which can be streamed from Gala Bingo’s website, www.galabingo.com. Actress Julie Peasgood, who is known for her roles on Brookside, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, will be guest presenting this Friday, June 19.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Peasgood. “Bingo is great fun and I can’t wait to get behind that podium and try my hand at calling.”
Paul Tremain, the director of programmes for Gala TV, etv media group, added: “We’re delighted to have Julie join us this week. We had a really great response from the first two ‘Soap Star Bingo’ shows. I’m looking forward to seeing some real onscreen chemistry between Chris and Julie this week.”
Since being launched on June 5, ‘Soap Star Bingo’ has welcomed guest presenters Joe Swash and James Redmond. Swash is well known as Mickey Miller on EastEnders and for winning ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here,’ while Redmond came into the public eye with his roles on Hollyoaks and Casualty. The special guest stars join Parker to call out the bingo numbers as fans at home interact by sending questions in for the soap star through text messages and emails.

not so keen on gala, small pots and serious overcrowding when they have free bingo, sometimes i can`t get into the rooms and it crashes alot and i have to log back in and then the game i wanted is playing without me.

Still like Gala but not their new layout…recently, site crashes frequently…difficult to enter rooms offering free games on thursdays.

This was the first online bingo site I joined…Its is very popular which makes winning less likely but the money prizes tend to be higher..Lots of rooms including Sharon Osbourne room ..So if you miss her voice since she left xfactor this is the place to go!!! They have free Bingo on Thursday but because its so busy it canbe difficult to get in rooms and some times you are booted off. Winnings can be taken out straight away without the 2 day reverse rule which a lot of the smaller sites have.

I too used to love playing Gala, but lately the prize money seems to be going lower. If it was £5 for a line and 2 or more shared they each got a fiver now they split the £5 I ended up with £1.50 the other night cos I shared with 2 others.
