In the wake of Brexit, it’s safe to say the UK has been feeling a tad disoriented. Political parties have been thrown into turmoil; there’s uncertainty about future of trade and movement; and the economy doesn’t know which way is up.
But what does it mean for us, the average bingo-lover?
So, in case you missed it... Brexit happened.
And whatever you feel about it...
...or...
...or even...
...life goes on...
...and, naturally, bingo does too.
So… what’s changed?
Well, in terms of boring things like legislation and regulation...
(that nonetheless affect all of us bingo-lovers)
...very little really. You see, the UK mostly makes its own rules on the subject, which are overseen by the Gambling Commission.
However, it may affect non-UK sites that you play on, as these companies may be required to pay more tax.
And the EU also have measures in place to make sure that your personal information is kept private, safe and sound.
So now that we’re officially going OUT, does it mean there will be a free-for-all?
Well, yes and no.
No, you don’t have to worry about bingo sites selling you out.
But yes, someone needs to take responsibility for ensuring that our data continues to be well protected… the UK government perhaps. Let’s just see how it goes.
Basically, in the short term, there will be no change to speak of...
...and in the long term, you’re unlikely to notice much difference either.
So now that’s cleared up...
...let’s just get on with playing bingo!
All sorted then. Check out our recommended UK bingo sites right here.
